The Kramer Project July 22-24, 28, 30, 31 • Hoover-Leppen Theatre
This Open Space Arts theatrical production of The Kramer Project is directed and adapted by David Zak from author, playwright, and activist Larry Kramer’s watershed speech, The Tragedy of Today’s Gays.
“In this season of anti-trans legislation, looming US Supreme Court decisions, and orders to Don’t Say Gay,” Zak recounts, two years after Kramer’s death, “I found myself wondering ‘What would Larry Kramer say’?”
Zak initially worked with Kramer to adapt his speech into a theatrical work. This will be the first production for Open Space Arts, a non-profit dedicated to producing works of social relevance.
All proceeds of the production will benefit Center on Halsted. The run of performances opens July 21 and will run two consecutive weekends. All performance times are 7 pm.
Tickets are $30 for reserved VIP front-of-house seats. General admission tickets are $20. Student and senior tickets are $10.
