Celebrating Diversity, Fostering Belonging
Center on Halsted's Community and Cultural team creates and hosts a wide array of engaging programs, ranging from open gym volleyball in our gymnasium to dance recitals in our theatre to art receptions of local LGBTQ+ artists on our second and third floors.
Center on Halsted is home to two art galleries which showcase different LGBTQ artists from the community. You can view the galleries on the second and third floors during normal business hours or join us for our opening night reception where you can mix and mingle with other community members and meet the featured artists.
Center on Halsted has a full-size gymnasium on the third floor which hosts a number of athletic events and programs like open gym volleyball and pickleball. More than 500 people come to Center on Halsted every week to enjoy the athletic facilities and team sports.
We offer regular events and programs designed for specific communities within the LGBTQ family to help foster identity and fellowship including programs for Bisexual and Transgender individuals, for Women, and for Children and Families.
Plan Your Community Event
With a multitude of rooms and venues, the possibilities for you are endless: host a movie screening in our 161-person theatre, a job fair in our gymnasium, a condo association meeting in one of our conference rooms, a seminar and networking event in our multi-purpose hall, or a bat mitzvah in our reception hall.
