The Dr. David J. Lochman Cyber Center provides technology training and internet access to the LGBTQ community. We work to advance technology competence, improve employability, and bridge the digital divide within the community.
Programs and Services
Public Access to the Cyber Center
There are 20 computers in the Cyber Center available for public use during open-access hours. Each computer has internet access as well as many popular software programs for you to use.
Classes & Workshops
The Cyber Center offers a number of beginner and intermediate level courses to help you strengthen your computer knowledge or build specific skills using programs like Microsoft Office, Google SketchUp and more.
The Cyber Center also offers specific technology workshops each month covering a variety of topics and skills. These workshops are focused on a specific and more advanced topic like social networking, specialized software, and/ or computer hardware.

Need help drafting a resume or doing online job searching? We can help. Our team of staff and volunteers are here to help you build skills and techniques to better compete in the job market. This is your opportunity for one-on-one assistance to create the right résumé, fine-tune your interview skills, or hone your online job search. Our open access hours are free and open to the public.
Career Development Workshops
Throughout the year, Center on Halsted and our community partners will host a series of Career Development Workshops consisting of more in-depth career assistance. The workshops are designed to help individuals build the skills necessary to find, apply and land the right job in today's economy.

When can I use the lab?
Open acccess hours are posted above. Updates to program offerings will be posted on this page once available.
Do I have to do anything to use the lab? Is there a fee?
A brief sign-up process is required where you will complete an intake form, learn about the Cyber Center and receive a username and password to use in the future. The entire process usually takes around five minutes. Currently, there is no fee to use the Cyber Center.
Can I print out documents in the Cyber Center?
Each user is allowed 20 sheets per calendar month at no cost. Once the limit has been reached, there is a cost of 10 cents per sheet for additional printing.
Are there any rules I need to follow?
During your intake, you will be provided with a list of Cyber Center policies and asked to sign that you understand and agree to them.
What if I forget my password?
No problem. The Cyber Center team will be able to reset your password for you.
Are there any classes I can take?
Classes are in development! When available, class and workshop offerings will be posted on this page.
What software may I use on CTC computers?
Each workstation is equipped with Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Office Professional 2019 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and InfoPath). Additional software may be installed for classes and workshops.
