NOT Case Management. Linkage to Care Services are available in Center on Halsted's HIV Testing and Prevention Department. Clients who are newly diagnosed or already living with HIV are eligible to receive services.

The HIV Resource HUB is a Chicago Department of Public Health funded initiative that serves as a partnership between AIDS Foundation of Chicago and Center on Halsted. The Resource Hub will provide comprehensive information and direct connections to HIV services for people living with and vulnerable to HIV. Individual assessments will be provided to identify specific needs and connection to appropriate resources. Hub services include HIV testing and PrEP support, mental health counseling, medical transportation, primary care, housing navigation and more.

Education and Outreach Programs

Education and outreach to schools and community organizations on LGBT-sensitivity, anti-violence, HIV/AIDS, and other issues relevant to the community. Clinical training opportunities for Masters and Doctoral-level students who are interested in a diverse and rigorous clinical practicum with a strong focus on LGBTQ clinical competence.

The Linkage to Care Phone Number is for people who are living with HIV and would like to be linked to care, whether that be for the first time or if they are looking to be re-engaged to care. The phone number is available by phone or by text.

The State of Illinois AIDS, HIV, & STD Hotline is an IDPH-Funded Hotline based out of Center on Halsted that offers a variety of HIV/related services. The Hotline provides evidence-based, medically-accurate HIV information to callers in addition to emotional support and referrals.

The LGBTQ Violence Resource Line is a confidential hotline and can be made anonymously. They will guide callers through a simple process of information gathering about the incident, and about themselves. There are no requirements. They are allowed to share the level of information that is comfortable for callers. They may even choose to report anonymously.

Center on Halsted's Hotline Texting Service offers clients an opportunity to receive health information and book and appointment through text while texting with one of Center on Halsted's Health Educators in a confidential manner. For more than 30 years, Center on Halsted has helped Chicago's LGBTQ community and caring allies meet their behavioral health needs. Are you struggling to cope with stress, depression or anxiety? How about sexual or gender identity? Perhaps substance abuse or an eating disorder. Experiencing relationship problems, harassment or violence? We hope our team of skilled psychologists, social workers, counselors, interns, volunteers and therapists can help. We offer individual, relationship, family, and group therapies to those who are 13 and older. Our long history in the community informs our services and makes us a unique provider of affirming, safe and supportive care. We are particularly competent in addressing important issues facing todays LGBTQ community members and caring allies. While most of our services are offered at Center on Halsted, we also provide some of our services away from Center on Halsted at specific off-site locations.

Youth Program counselors are available to meet with youth one-on-one to offer support around coping with and growing from difficult situations. This can include, though is not limited to, exploring identity, relationship concerns, depression, anxiety, improving communication, and learning stress management techniques. For youth aged 13-24

Survivors of violence can include those who are direct victims as well as witnesses and significant others impacted by the effects of abuse and violence. The behavioral health team provides LGBTQ-affirming and trauma-focused psychotherapy. Therapy can provide support and stability during what can feel like challenging times for survivors. If you or someone you know is a survivor of anti-LGBTQ or HIV discrimination, hate violence, domestic abuse, sexual violence/assault, or police abuse/violence, please call the LGBTQ Violence Resource Line listed below

Grief and Loss is a skills-based group for individuals dealing with issues or symptoms related to grief and loss. Types of loss may include by are not limited to the loss of a relationship, pet, loved one, job, etc. Fee for the support group is up to $15 per session but prices can be negotiated.
